The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

The Ohio Soccer Association, formerly Ohio North Youth Soccer, is committed to delivering outstanding quality coaching education at the local level, and at an affordable cost.  In partnership with U.S. Soccer and the United Soccer Coaches, OSA coaching education is ready to help coaches find the right course for them.  For clubs and leagues, let us help you set up courses that meet your group's needs.

4 v 4 Courses
PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with players U6 to U7.  
GOALS: To understand the basic needs for grassroots players, structure of the game and training session, and the basic  tasks of a grassroots coach.   
ELIGIBILITY: Complete the free Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module via the Learning Center.

PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with players U8 to U9.  
GOALS: To understand the basic needs for grassroots players, structure of the game and training session, and the basic  tasks of a grassroots coach.

PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with players U11 to U12.  
GOALS:  To understand the basic needs for grassroots players, structure of the game and training session, and the basic  tasks of a grassroots coach.

PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with players U13 to U19.  
GOALS:  To understand the basic needs for grassroots players, structure of the game and training session, and the basic  tasks of a grassroots coach.

D Courses
PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with youth teams (U6 to U19) in a participation environment.  
GOALS: To create game-like training sessions and game day environment that encourages players’ ownership (decision-making)  

ELIGIBILITY:

To register for the U.S. Soccer D Course, candidates must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • 11v11 Grassroots In-Person
  • One (1) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, or 9v9)
  • One (1) Grassroots Online (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)

or

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF E License

or

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF F License
  • 11v11 Grassroots In-Person
  • One (1) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7 or 9v9)

C Courses
PURPOSE: To prepare coaches to work with players U6 to U7.  
GOALS: To create a series of progressive game-like training sessions that encourage players’ ownership (decision-making) and to create a game day environment linked to training session goals.  
ELIGIBILITY: Holds a U.S. Soccer D license for at least one (1) year
