US Soccer "D" License
The 40-hour US Soccer "D" License is the only prerequisite to attend the National "C" license (aside from professional or national team experience) and playing ability is not a prerequisite for successful completion.

The prerequisites to register for the "D" License are noted below.

  • Create a personal profile on the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center.
  • Complete the 20-minute on-line Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Education module.
  • Have completed either the "F" License or one 2-hour on-line course.
  • Have completed either the "E" License or two 4-hour in-person courses, which must include the 11v11 License.

The "D" license targets parent-coaches seeking to advance from the entry-level GRCE courses and is divided into two course meetings, separated by a minimum of four weeks of Deliberate Practice. The curriculum focuses on US Soccer's Six Tasks of the Coach: Coaching the Game, Coaching the Training Session, Leading the Player, Leading The Team, Managing The Performance Environment, and Personal Leadership.

The "D" license requires the completion of ten assignments (approximately 15 hours of additional work) submitted through the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center (DCC).

United Soccer Coaches 7v7 / 9v9 Diploma

The USC 7v7 / 9v9 Diploma is a 9 hour course designed to help Travel-level coaches better-understand game and practice management; and the abilities and motivations of their players.  The course includes both field and classroom presentations.

Ohio North U10/12 Course
The Ohio North U10/12 course has been a staple for Travel-level coaches in Ohio North for well over a decade. Covering an extensive range of skills, tactics and game organizations, the course includes 11 hours of field sessions to complement three hours of on-line self-study.
