In the case that an applicant was disqualified based on a criminal offense in the Risk management Guidelines criteria, the subject may request an appeal to decision however, if the appeal panel should reinstate the applicant, a letter must go to every player’s parent from the coaches’ team informing them that said coach was found guilty of one or more of the following crimes found in the disqualification criteria. All parents must sign and return the letter stating that they allow the coach to continue coaching their child. All signed letters must be sent to Ohio North.
Can minors coach?
Minors can help coach but must have a letter from their local police department stating that they have no criminal history. A minor can only be an assistant coach and will need to be entered into the registration and risk management system so that their name can appear on a roster. Minors cannot be any younger than 15.
